Memorial Hall floor gets a lift

3 September 2015

Works on a section of the flooring at the Queenstown Memorial Hall have been completed ahead of schedule, Mayor Phil Vickers said when visiting the facility today.

“Our carpenters Ray Brodie and Craig Stebbings are to be commended for their work on this project,” Mayor Vickers stated.  "Their expertise and dedication to ensuring the integrity of the Hall was maintained through the upgrade was fantastic and to finish such a job ahead of schedule is fantastic.”

The floor had become structurally unsound in a high traffic area, with Council able to complete the $20,000 project using the skills of Council employees.  The flooring has been replaced with myrtle decking floor boards, matching the remainder of the floor.

The Queenstown Memorial Hall is used for a variety of events including corporate events, exhibitions and markets.
