Ageing Positively on the West Coast

4 March 2019

The West Coast Council in partnership with KPMG are pleased to announce the creation and launch of their ‘Ageing Positively on the West Coast’ Survey.

Community discussion has highlighted the need for the West Coast Council to work with all tiers of government to produce a strategy that allows community members to live positive, healthy and active lives, even as they age. It has also shown that the ability for the elderly to stay living and working in their community as they age, rather than having to move away, is important. To achieve this and for the people of the West Coast to live life to the fullest, they need access to disability services, effective housing, public transport and to feel a sense of contribution and appreciation within their communities. The aim of the survey is to better understand the services that are available, the services needed and how those services can be best made accessible to the community.

So that the outcome of this strategy is in line with community needs the West Coast Council invites all age groups, townships and segments of the community to have their say on the issue via the ‘Ageing Positively on the West Coast’ survey.  We encourage individuals to complete their own surveys rather than submitting as a household or organisation.
