Donation Welcome Support For Zeehan Swimming Pool

West Coast Mayor Phil Vickers has welcomed the donation of a chemical control system for the Zeehan Swimming Pool worth about $21,700.

Tasmanian-based swimming pool suppliers PoolQuip teamed up with International Quadratics and Brauer Industries to donate the chemical control system as part of upgrades at the facility.

“Following Council’s review of its pools and the adoption of the West Coast Aquatics Strategy and Business Plan last year, Council has been working on essential capital works at the Zeehan Swimming Pool,” Mayor Vickers said.

“The donation of the chemical control system is a major boost as part of these upgrades and I wish to give the companies involved my heartfelt thanks for their significant contribution.”

Council’s upgrade of the Zeehan Swimming Pool is in line with the vision adopted as part of the West Coast Community Plan 2025 and in accordance with the West Coast Aquatics Strategy, which aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of the three swimming pools in the Municipal Area.

“Council continues to build on long lasting relationships with key stakeholders such as schools, swimming clubs and pool patrons and is committed to continuing to provide such important community infrastructure,” Mayor Vickers said.

PoolQuip Director Brad Chick said the company was proud to be involved in the project.

“This donation is just one way we can give back to communities and it is something all three of the companies are passionate about as we understand the value that remote communities get out of a local swimming pool,” Mr Chick said.

“Having a good chemical control system on the pool will be a great way to ensure the comfort and safety at the facility.”
